A Historic and Welcoming Lodge in Hartlepool
Clarence Lodge No. 2462 has been part of Freemasonry in Hartlepool since 1893. With over 130 years of history, the Lodge combines tradition, continuity, and a strong sense of community.
Celebrating its 125th anniversary in 2018, Clarence Lodge continues to thrive as an active and friendly Lodge within the Hartlepool Masonic Hall.
Today, the Lodge has around 40 subscribing members drawn from Hartlepool, Teesside, and surrounding areas. Members come from all walks of life, ranging in age from 19 to 80, creating a balanced and supportive environment where experience and fresh perspectives are equally valued.
Many recent members have joined through online enquiries, reflecting the Lodge’s openness to welcoming new people who are curious about Freemasonry in Hartlepool.
Tradition, Fellowship and Community
Clarence Lodge maintains strong links to the ancient traditions of Freemasonry while embracing a lively and enjoyable social atmosphere.
The Lodge places great importance on fellowship. Social events regularly include wives, partners, family members and friends, helping to build lasting friendships both within and beyond the Lodge.
Charity and community support are central to the Lodge’s activities. Clarence Lodge supports a wide range of charities and good causes, often nominated by members and their families.
Most recently, the Lodge proudly helped four young people take part as crewmembers in the Tall Ships Race 2023 — an opportunity they would not otherwise have been able to experience.
